At Sight Ease, we envision a world where visual impairment no longer limits one's ability to explore, connect, and thrive independently.
People with visual impairments face significant barriers in daily life—missing familiar faces in crowds, navigating unfamiliar spaces, identifying important signage, and being excluded from technologies that could otherwise enhance their independence. These challenges create an uneven playing field, limiting opportunities for full participation in work, education, and social settings.
Our mission is to level this field through innovative AI solutions that enhance spatial awareness, object recognition, and environmental interaction—empowering everyone to navigate the world with confidence, dignity, and ease.
Heidi Haukioja founded Sight Ease from a place of profound personal connection. As the mother of a daughter born with visual impairment, Heidi witnessed firsthand the everyday challenges that come with navigating a world designed primarily for the sighted.
Based in Palo Alto, California, Heidi brings her extensive background as a serial entrepreneur and product leader to this deeply personal mission. What began as a mother's determination to create a better world for her daughter has evolved into a pioneering company at the intersection of assistive technology and artificial intelligence
